Pastor Josh Coffelt

Pastor Josh accepted Jesus as his Savior when he was just ten years old and was later baptized. When he was 11 years old, he surrendered his life to the ministry having known that God called him into the ministry to pastor one day. Josh prepared for ministry at The Crown College of the Bible in Powell, TN where he graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor in Bible with an emphasis on Pastoral Ministry. Josh was ordained in May 2008 by Dr. Bob Bevington at Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle where he completed his internship.

After his ordination, Josh worked as a Youth Pastor from May 2008 until January 2012 at Gilead Baptist Church under Pastor Mike Goodson. It was here that Josh volunteered at least one weekend a month to help at a boy’s home in West Virginia until it unfortunately closed. In December 2015, Josh was voted in as Assistant Pastor under the leadership of Pastor Mike Napier. In 2020, while at Clear Springs Baptist Church in Corryton, TN under Pastor Justin Pratt, Josh served in many ministries to include teaching Sunday School and working with the youth in many different areas. On June 7th, 2023, Glenwood Baptist Church voted unanimously to make Josh the Interim Pastor. Pastor Josh was voted in as permanent Pastor on September 10th, 2023. Josh enjoys getting to know everyone he encounters at church and loves to live out his life verse Jude 1:22 “And of some have compassion, making a difference:” Josh believes that we must have compassion for people like Jesus had.

While at The Crown College, Josh met the love of his life Heather, and both were married on June 16, 2007. Josh and Heather love serving the Lord together and love the people that they get to do life with. Heather has served in music and children’s ministries throughout her life. She has also served as Nursery Director at Clear Springs Baptist Church in Corryton, TN. They have two kids, Josiah and Haven who love their church family at Glenwood.
