Pastor Josh Coffelt
Pastor Josh accepted Jesus as his Savior when he was just ten years old and was later baptized. When he was 11 years old, he surrendered his life to the ministry having known that God called him into the ministry to pastor one day. Josh prepared for ministry at The Crown College of the Bible in Powell, TN where he graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor in Bible with an emphasis on Pastoral Ministry. Josh was ordained in May 2008 by Dr. Bob Bevington at Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle where he completed his internship.
After his ordination, Josh worked as a Youth Pastor from May 2008 until January 2012 at Gilead Baptist Church under Pastor Mike Goodson. It was here that Josh volunteered at least one weekend a month to help at a boy’s home in West Virginia until it unfortunately closed. In December 2015, Josh was voted in as Assistant Pastor under the leadership of Pastor Mike Napier. In 2020, while at Clear Springs Baptist Church in Corryton, TN under Pastor Justin Pratt, Josh served in many ministries to include teaching Sunday School and working with the youth in many different areas. On June 7th, 2023, Glenwood Baptist Church voted unanimously to make Josh the Interim Pastor. Pastor Josh was voted in as permanent Pastor on September 10th, 2023. Josh enjoys getting to know everyone he encounters at church and loves to live out his life verse Jude 1:22 “And of some have compassion, making a difference:” Josh believes that we must have compassion for people like Jesus had.
While at The Crown College, Josh met the love of his life Heather, and both were married on June 16, 2007. Josh and Heather love serving the Lord together and love the people that they get to do life with. Heather has served in music and children’s ministries throughout her life. She has also served as Nursery Director at Clear Springs Baptist Church in Corryton, TN. They have two kids, Josiah and Haven who love their church family at Glenwood. Worship Pastor Darrin “Kip” Rhines
Darrin Rhines (UTK ’98) worked in the utility industry with Knoxville Utilities Board for 28 years, gaining experience in Communications, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service & Support, Human Resources, Research & Development, Economic Development, and Government Relations. Darrin obtain his Master’s in Business Administration from Liberty University.
To this day, he remains passionate about supporting and advancing both team members and managed programs within his circle of influence. Prior to his work at KUB, Darrin served in the U.S. Army as a Czech and Slovak linguist in the 110th Military Intelligence Battalion of the 10th Mountain Division in upstate New York.
In addition to these roles, Darrin remains involved with the Optimist Club of Knoxville and tnAchieves. Outside of the office, Darrin enjoys all things outdoors, playing music, and traveling when he can.
Darrin is the husband of Marion Rhines, an author and a librarian assistant at Cedar Bluff Middle School. He is the father of five – Spencer (UTK graduate ’21), Austin (Wal-Mart associate), Olivia (PSTCC business student transferring to UTK next fall), Jordan (Hardin Valley Academy junior), and Jacob (Cedar Bluff Middle School). Somewhere along the way they picked up two crazy dogs as well – Dorian and Dasher.

Ministry Assistant Marion Rhines
Marion Rhines graduated from Albany Technical College after studying to be a Medical Assistant. Though she worked in this field for many years, she also worked in a video store, a pet store, and provided private child care. Once her children started school, she entered into the public school system, first as a middle school special education teaching assistant, then as a substitute teacher, and library secretary. When Marion and her husband, Darrin, were foster parents, she volunteered for the Tennessee Foster Adoptive Care Association, holding the office of both vice president and president before becoming the executive director for the TFACA from 2019 through 2022.
When Marion isn’t working in school, she enjoys writing clean romance novels and working on two blogs, Tips from the FLIP Side, and a blog for the RISE UP Cooperative. Rise UP is a ministry for at risk and youth aging out of foster care. Anything can spark the creative juices and lead to a new idea for a novel.
Marion is the wife of Darrin Rhines, a director of the office of Engineering Professional Practice, and worship pastor here at Glenwood Baptist Church. They use their talents to serve the Lord in various capacities, including TeamKid Ministry, choir, orchestra, and organizational helps. They have five children and a daughter-in-law.
